The Bar Is Open

Tonight's drink is creamy and smooth. It's almost like a shake, but with the kick of alcohol.

Creamy Raspberry Grenade

  • 2 ounces Irish Cream

  • 1/2 raspberry liqueur

  • dash of grenadine

Mix ingredients in an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake well. Strain into a martini glass.

Enjoy your Creamy Raspberry Grenades responsibly, please. Happy Friday, everyone!

*Please forgive the quality of my photo. I can't seem to get my camera to focus on the foreground instead of the background. If you have any ideas how I can fix this, please leave them in my comment section. Thanks!

1. The photo looks fine to me.
2. It happened to my hubby too. There is a button to press on the camera for focus (distance or up close). I think that' the button to use. When hubby wakes up, I'll ask him.
Love those glasses!

Your camera might have a macro setting. Mine does (not that I can find the actual camera anywhere...) the icon is a tulip. Check that out, it should work.

I'll take two Grenades in the garden please!

Thanks for the camera tips, everyone. I'm going to try them.

Lissaloo and Purple Flowers, thanks, I like the glasses too!

5th, they are tasty!

Donna, if you like Irish Cream, you'll probably love these. So good!

Abby, I do have a tulip icon. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to change the setting and find out if it makes a difference.

I'd love to have you stop by for drinks in the garden!

Skip Breakfast And Have An Adventure

We're skipping breakfast again.  I know you were expecting Mr. Willoughby to dazzle you with his cooking skills, but he doesn't feel like cooking today.  He wants to go skydiving. Yesterday, a friend sent us a link to an article about a new place to skydive in Michigan.  When I clicked on the link, I was surprised to see a familiar face. We'll get to that in a minute. You may recall that Mr. W started skydiving by taking a tandem jump a few years ago.  With a tandem jump, having a great instructor makes the difference between a fun experience and an amazing experience and Mr. W had Josh Sheppard; one of the best.  Josh is experienced, enthusiastic and passionate about skydiving.  Mr. W had such an amazing experience that he decided to take the AFF course (to learn to jump solo) before they were back on the ground.   So back to that article, the familiar face I saw was Josh.  He and his brother Abe have started a new skydiving business in Owo...

It's Wednesday, Welcome Back To The Cocktail Party!

Welcome to Willoughby's Blog Style Cocktail Party. I hope you will find some new blogs to follow and expand your circle of blog friends. I know you're all anxious to mingle, so I'll get right to it. I'd like to introduce Deidra from Jumping Tandem .  I know you'll enjoy her blog as much as I do. Keeping It Real.... Deidra I'm an East Coast girl living in the midwest because I love my husband (I call him "H" around here) and his work brought us here. We have been blessed with two amazing children (currently in college) and an empty nest that I absolutely love! Don't get me wrong, I love my kids but they're destined to change the world and they can't do that living under my roof (although they're welcome back anytime for love, prayers, support, encouragement, and of course homecooked meals and clean laundry). Did I mention that H is a pastor? So that makes me the pastor's wife - but don't let that blur your vision. H is...

Bugging Out

Spring is such a wonderful time of year.  The birds have returned and greet each morning with their lovely songs.  The tree branches are covered with green buds ready to burst into life.  The grass has shed it's yellow/brown pallor in favor of a lovely emerald.  The air is warm and breezy.  It's all so lovely except for one thing.  The bugs. Because of our nearly uninhabitable climate during the winter months, we don't see many bugs from late October through early April.  I almost forget how much I hate them until they come back.  And they know I hate them so they taunt me.  Ever since the thermometer hit the 60 degree mark, we've had flies congregating around the back porch.  I can't sit out there and enjoy my morning coffee without having them buzz past me. Now, flies I hate, but spiders I absolutely loathe.  Friday morning I walked into the bathroom to dry my hair and spotted what I thought was a bumble ...
