Run, Don't Walk, On Over Here! I'm Having A Giveaway!

You can never have too much motivation when you're trying to achieve your goals, right?  That's what Mr. Willoughby and I thought when some people we know decided to take up running.  To give them a little extra encouragement, we designed and printed some t-shirts for them.  It turns out that when other runners saw them, they wanted a little extra motivation, too, and we've been busy at our screen press ever since.

They are now available on our Etsy store, The Cabbage Rose, but we also wanted to have a giveaway.  If you're already a runner, trying to become a runner, know a runner, or just like free t-shirts, enter the giveaway and you could win one!  We'd love to give you some extra motivation!

Are you motivated to enter?  Here's what you need to do:

Entry Rules
1. You must be a follower of This Stop Willoughby, or become one.

2. You must click on the link to The Cabbage Rose, browse the running shirts, and then come back and leave a comment on this post telling me which one is your favorite.

3. If you would like to earn a bonus entry, mention my giveaway on your blog along with a link to this post. Please be sure to leave a comment (with link to your post) letting me know that you've done so.

4. This giveaway is limited to the United States (sorry!).

The deadline for entries is Friday, August 26, 2011 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time. The winner will be drawn randomly and announced shortly thereafter. One entry as well as one bonus entry allowed. Please be sure to include a way for me to contact you should you be the winner of this giveaway. If your email is not linked to your blog, please include it in the comment you leave here. If I am unable to contact the winner, a different winner will be drawn at random.

Good Luck!!

Willoughby

Skip Breakfast And Have An Adventure

We're skipping breakfast again.  I know you were expecting Mr. Willoughby to dazzle you with his cooking skills, but he doesn't feel like cooking today.  He wants to go skydiving. Yesterday, a friend sent us a link to an article about a new place to skydive in Michigan.  When I clicked on the link, I was surprised to see a familiar face. We'll get to that in a minute. You may recall that Mr. W started skydiving by taking a tandem jump a few years ago.  With a tandem jump, having a great instructor makes the difference between a fun experience and an amazing experience and Mr. W had Josh Sheppard; one of the best.  Josh is experienced, enthusiastic and passionate about skydiving.  Mr. W had such an amazing experience that he decided to take the AFF course (to learn to jump solo) before they were back on the ground.   So back to that article, the familiar face I saw was Josh.  He and his brother Abe have started a new skydiving business in Owo...

Timeline

I made Spaghetti with Tomato Basil Cream Sauce and Chicken Parmesan for dinner last night. It's not a difficult meal to prepare, but it does require the oven and multiple burners on the cooktop so it heats up the kitchen. After dinner, it was still awfully warm inside, so I left all of the dishes right where there were and my husband and I went outside to sit on the back porch and cool off. We had eaten rather late, so it was already dark outside. Our neighborhood was uncharacteristically quiet and the only sounds were that of the crickets chirping and the faint whoosh of cars passing by on Main Street. It was a perfect summer evening, the sort that you dream about in the middle of February. I asked my husband what he thought we might have been doing at that exact moment one year ago. Had we been sitting in the same place enjoying similarly beautiful weather? Had I made the same meal for dinner? What about five years ago? How about 10, 15, and 20 years ago? I know I've taken a ...

Do These Cookies Come With Instructions?

I have a simple question to ask you.  What is a Christmas cookie?  I've celebrated Christmas every year of my life, but today was the first time I ever thought about the what the term actually means (my son says I have too much time on my hands).   When I looked it up online, the definition read "A sugar cookie, usually cut in festive shapes, that is made and eaten at Christmas."  Really?  Could I have been doing it wrong all these years? Does Christmas mean December 25th, or does it include the entire holiday season?  Would it still be a Christmas cookie if you ate it on Thanksgiving?  Or New Years Eve?  What about other types of cookies?  If I make Chocolate Truffle cookies, for example, can they technically be called Christmas cookies?   And should I wait until Christmas to serve them?    Who are Christmas cookies for?  I know a lot of people, myself included,  make up platter...
