A Wonderful Surprise And A New Attitude

I walked outside to water my plants and found a wonderful surprise waiting for me on my front porch. It was a package from my friend Joanna at The Fifty Factor. Joanna and I became acquainted when she spotted the name of my blog a while back. You see, Joanna is from Willoughby, Ohio, the inspiration for the idyllic town in The Twilight Zone episode A Stop At Willoughby. That episode is, of course, the inspiration for the name of my blog. What a wonderful coincidence, don't you think?

On a recent trip back to Willoughby, Joanna picked up some souvenirs for me.

I love this poster! I'd like to frame it and hang it in my office.

A calendar of summer events in downtown Willoughby and two flyers for the Last Stop Willoughby festival. One side has information, the other side looks like a ticket.
A City of Willoughby totebag! I've been needing a new totebag and I can't imagine finding one that I love as much as this one.

Isn't Joanna the best? If you haven't visited her blog, The Fifty Factor, you really should. I know you'll like it as much as I do.

A New Attitude

I'll admit it, I've gotten a little lazy, lately. I'm guilty of starting things and not finishing them. I'll get the laundry done, but it will sit in baskets waiting to be put away. I cleaned out the bird feeder, but I haven't refilled it yet. It seems everywhere I look there is something that needs to be done that I'm casually putting off.

What's happened to me and how did I get this way? I like things neat, clean and organized. I like to make lists and check off what I've accomplished. When did I become such a slacker? Can I blame it on summer?

Enough is enough! I've got to get back on track and prioritize. I've got to adopt a new "get it done" instead of "I'll do it later" attitude. I've got to improve my time management skills. Why am I telling you this? Because I've heard that you are 50% more likely to do something if you write it down. I'm also hoping that I'm not the only one who has slacked off a little.

I don't want to be June Cleaver (I don't think she would float margaritas in her pool, after all), I just want to feel on top of my game again. So who's with me? Anyone else suffering from this mysterious malady? And if you're not, do you want to drop by and put away my laundry and fill my bird feeder?

I suffer from the same "disease" too, LOL! For the last 3 months, I have been putting many chores off, due to lack of time. Strangely, I always make time for fun activities!

I blame it on the summer also, and on the transitional phase I am going through right now (new job, new place to stay, new emotional status, etc) Hopefully, everything will fall right into place... sooner or later... probably later... LOL!

Lately, I've been come and go with putting things off, and I don't know why. I've neglected alot of my garden, deadheading is no longer a chore of mine, so the geraniums are looking abit sad. I just don't feel like doing it. I'm not as inspired as I was in the beginning of the summer. I do a few things a day,and I am a serious list person, as you are. Once it's written, it has to be checked off. But it's a really good thing I don't have a pool, or the list would even get written. I'd been floating around all day! :)
Enjoy all your goodies! That was a very generous gift Fifty Factor gave you.

Oh no, you are not the only one! I think it does have something to do with summer...fall is just around the corner and it will be here soon enough! Things will get back to normal then. I decided that will be my attitude until after Labor Day! :)

And what a nice surprise package!

School around here started last week, isn't that a bummer? I remember going back to school after Labor Day- you know, in The Good Ol' Days! I love the package, that was so sweet of her.

I love the gifts from Joanna. How sweet ogf her to get them for you! The poster will look great framed!

I find that summer can be a little lazy! Sometimes it's nice to leave the laundry not folded or something like that. The tasks we have to do all of the time get a little boring.
Don't be hard on yourself. You'll get back into the swing of things. No worries.
Blame the new pool! LOL

What wonderful gifts! How thoughtful!
I am a type A, OCD, list loving gal, but there are days when I can't even be bothered to get out of my jammies. Enjoy your end of summer laziness - that stuff will still be there tomorrow!

I'm a starter, too. Not so much on the follow through. In fact, while I read your post, stacks of clean and folded clothes glared at me from the family room couch (and coffee table, and ottoman, and...). I'm inspired, though. I'm thinking I might put them away by Friday.

BTW: Great gifts!

So glad you like the goodies! Willoughby is a great place and you're a terrific blogger :-) I couldn't resist.

I'm crazy organized but lately seem so swamped things are piling up a bit. Tomorrow I'll put everything away-- or the next day :-)
