Postcard From Camp

Dear Friends,

It's been a while since I've written, but I'm still here at Camp Willoughby.

I'm having a great time, but being head counselor keeps me pretty busy.

There are lots of flowers to water....

....and visitors to deal with.  Some are welcome.....

......and others are not.

I finally found the time to upholster the outdoor dining chairs, although now I'm thinking of getting rid of this set (we have another set and Mr. Willoughby said he feels like he's sitting at the kiddie table when we use this one).

Other projects are still unfinished....

....but we'll get that sagging gate straightened up eventually.

I've made a new friend...

...who tells me when the hot tub is too hot.  And an old friend has been replaced....

....thanks to ebay.

We've been hanging out in the pool as much as possible.  We added lights this year and have enjoyed a night swim or two.

We've made lots of great food (remind me to tell you about the spicy chicken flautas) in the kitchen and on the grill.  We've even decked out the yard with torches and candles for a late meal just because pasta on a Tuesday night seems more special that way.

I'm trying to find the time to catch up with all my favorite blogs (and still dealing with that pesky issue that keeps me from commenting on some of them), but for now, I'm headed out to watch the long awaited rain from my favorite spot on the back porch.

That's all from Camp Willoughby for now.  How is your summer going?

Your friend,

Willoughby

It looks like you're having a perfect summer! You're flowers are beautiful, and I'm completely intrigued by the video game controller. I've gotta ask: which games does it play? I think I can see Ms. Pac Man, but I have a hunch there are some other beloved classics there.

Sounds like an awesome time at Camp Willoughby. Glad to see your old buddy's found a replacement. My summer's going well but it seems like Camp LB doesn't quite have the same successful activities as Camp Willoughby has had.

For the first time in years I have not just hated living in Las Vegas, Nevada for the summer. There are several reasons this might be so: it just now got hot and really dry, my garden is the best it has ever been, giving me such joy, and the Harry Potter movie came out and I've seen it twice. I'm heading to the northwest for a couple of weeks soon, so that makes it all even better. Thanks for asking! Enjoy your front porch - wish I were there.

If you are as laid back as this post reads then you have succeeded to find a place that many never find. I get to that place once in awhile but then the reality alligator shows up and well you know where he likes to bite.
